Raising Thaumopolis

I thought you might enjoy this. Back in 2007, through Brian Pulido, I got a chance to write a script for the 10th Anniversary Revisioning of Tomb Raider Lara Croft. Below is the result.

This means I can say that my first produced script stars Minnie Driver!

What was kind of funny about the whole project was that I went back and forth with the project director about what they wanted me to do. A couple SF things went in, got bounced, revised and reworked. As I was sending revisions in I decided, on a whim, that just sending a single idea in the email made little sense. So, on the fly, I put together the proposal for Raising Thaumopolis. Lo and behold, that was the one that got picked, and the producer really fought to get it done, since the political angle caused a few decision makers to blanche.

In the end, the script got produced with very minor revisions—all of which they asked me to make. I quite enjoyed doing the work, and adding yet one more franchise to my list of credits!
